The incense bowl includes sand and incense. Each pot conveys a quiet beauty of the ever changing earth; the swirling patterns that are created by this firing process. The fire is magical and frightening at the same time. I create a canvas of a well formed smooth pot for the fire and smoke to leave its magic, spirit and beauty. My hope is to evoke deep emotion in the viewer - peak their interest – feel what I feel creating each piece and the excitement of opening the kiln - finding the many beautiful pots that makes all the work worth while.
