Each of Ruth's animal sculptures comes in a gift box. Enclosed is a card with the following statement:

Hand formed and Raku fired, this horse is a unique small sculpture that has been inspired by Betty and Beauty, two horses that my husband remembers from his grandparent's farm where he grew up in Vermont.   During the raku process this horse has been taken red-hot from the kiln and reduction fired and smoked in a container of whole oats. This process brings out the unique colors and finishes found in raku.
