Sweet little turtle...

Each of Ruth's animal sculptures comes in a gift box.  Enclosed with this piece is a card with the following statement:

Hand formed and Raku fired, this Ancient Spirit Turtle is a unique small ceramic sculpture that has been inspired by ancient pottery shards and Southwest Native fetishes.

During the raku process this turtle has been taken red-hot from the kiln and smoked in a container of whole oats. This process blackens the crackle lines and any unglazed areas.
